Widgets are footer and sidebar items. How widgets look and where they are located in a site are determined by the site’s theme. Your WordPress site comes with default widgets. Remove any unnecessary widgets.

To remove or add widgets:

  • Click Appearance > widgets

Remove widgets:

  • Click the widget item in the right column to expand its settings, and click Delete

Add widgets:

  • Drag and drop a widget item from the Available Widgets (left) column to the specific widget area (footer or sidebar) in the right column

OR

  • Click a widget item in the left column under the Available Widgets
  • From the expanded menu, select a particular widget area (sidebar or footer) and then click Add Widget

  • Click and drag widgets to change the order they appear in the list

  • Add a Title (optional) and click Save

  • The widget is now added to the site
